Sony may have been bringing their (formerly) PlayStation exclusives to PC, but it doesn't mean the end of PS5 exclusives. In an interview on the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation Studios Head Herman Hulst clarified what Sony's plans are with regards to PC releases.

The interview touched on various topics, talking about PlayStation Studios' vision, Hulst's perspective on single-player games, and his opinion on new IPs. However, the most intriguing segment of the interview touches on PC releases. Over the past few years, PlayStation exclusives started popping up on Steam. These include Death StrandingHorizon Zero Dawn, and most recently, Days Gone. While leaks have shown that Uncharted 4 will be coming to PC as well, Hulst wanted to make sure that fans don't get the wrong idea. PlayStation exclusives will still be a thing, even though Sony really does have plans to bring future PS5 exclusives to PC. Eventually.

“I think it shows there’s an appetite from gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem to experience the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years,” says Hulst. “But I want to emphasize that PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation Studios titles at launch. But we do value PC gamers, and we’ll continue to look at the right times to launch each game. Bend Studio just released the PC version of Days Gone on May 18. So that’s about two years after the PS4 release.”

Hulst's response to the PC Blog's questions indicates that PC gamers will eventually get to enjoy PlayStation exclusives. However, they shouldn't expect PS5 exclusives to launch on the PC at the same time as they do on consoles. This makes sense. After all, the PlayStation Studios devs should be focusing on PS5 first, and then PC ports second.
