After finishing his buyout with the Hawks and signing with the Toronto Raptors, Jeremy Lin is now set to make his debut for his new team.

The Raptors will host the Washington Wizards this Wednesday, and head coach Nick Nurse confirms that Jeremy Lin will serve as the backup point guard.

This has certainly been an eventful week for Lin. There was not much left for him in Atlanta given the team's current rebuild and the emergence of point guard Trae Young. Fortunately, he will be able to seemingly hit the ground running following his departure from the Hawks.

It is safe to say that the potential to win played a factor in Lin's decision to join the Raptors. He has struggled with some of the more lackluster teams in the Eastern Conference over the last several seasons such as the Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets. Although he may have gotten plenty of playing time, it did not translate to much in terms of wins.

The move should be a nice change-of-scenery for Lin. He had largely served as somewhat of a stabilizing factor for Atlanta. The veteran averaged 10.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game with the Hawks this season.

Lin now finds himself with a legitimate playoff contender in Toronto. He should be able to provide some quality depth in the backcourt for a Raptors team that has set its sights on claiming the top spot in the East.
