Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry is currently the best player in the league when it comes to drawing charges. So much so that the 18 charges he has taken throughout the playoffs matches the total of the entire Portland Trail Blazers team for the regular season.

You read that one right. Lowry has taken as much charges in 19 playoff appearances this postseason as the entire Blazers squad in 82 games this season. This is truly a mind-blowing statistic which proves just how adept Lowry is in taking charges.

True enough, this was on full display on Thursday in Game 1 of the Finals against the defending champs, the Golden State Warriors. The five-time All-Star guard drew a few charges in his team's 118-109 victory that proved critical in terms of keeping the momentum on the side of the Raptors.

The charge he took from Warriors stud Draymond Green towards the end of the first half, as well as the one he drew against DeMarcus Cousins in the fourth period were the two defensive plays that stood out on the evening. And despite having scored only seven points on the evening, there's no denying that Lowry played a pivotal role in Toronto's Game 1 win.

Lowry has long been criticized for his alleged meltdowns during the playoffs. However, if his Game 1 performance is any indication, then it seems that the 32-year-old veteran is intent on proving his doubters wrong, and in the process do everything he can to help his side to an unlikely series victory.
