Superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard lifted the Toronto Raptors past the Portland Trail Blazers via a game-winner near the baseline, leaving 1.5 seconds on the clock.

Without a timeout, the Blazers were forced to heave the ball from the free-throw circle of their opponents' court as Damian Lillard's shot hit the backboard.

Leonard shot the ball very well all game long, ending up at 14-of-22 from the field. The former Defensive Player of the Year scored 38 points in total. Kyle Lowry supplied ample support by way of his 19 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, and two blocks. Marc Gasol was steady down low with 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block.

C.J. McCollum top-scored for the Blazers with 35 markers on 12-of-20 shooting, followed by Lillard's 24 points. The All-Star guard also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists.

The win pushed the Raptors closer to the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks. Toronto's record now stands at 46-17 — two games behind the Bucks ahead of their Friday night matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. Toronto has been on a tear as of late, winning nine of their last 10 outings, but the Bucks have been just as hot.

Meanwhile, the Blazers dropped their record to 38-24 which puts them at the Western Conference's fourth spot. They're in no way a comfortable position as the sixth-placed Utah Jazz are only 2.5 games behind Portland.
