Well… this is certainly a night that the Boston Red Sox would rather forget. Fresh off an awful series against their heated rivals in the New York Yankees, they looked to bounce back against the Toronto Blue Jays. Considering the positions of both teams, you'd think that this was going to be a close contest, no?

Well, everyone was in for a shock, as the Blue Jays absolutely beat the living hell out of the Red Sox in front of their fans. The Toronto-based team dropped 27 (!!!) runs against their opponents through six innings, while only allowing 4 runs. It's one of the most lopsided games in recent MLB history… and it's not even close to being finished yet.

A certain Boston legend, though, thinks that they still have a chance to make a comeback. Former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady reacted to the Red Sox' predicament in rather cheeky fashion. Here's what he had to say.

Brady, of course, is referencing the Patriots' iconic 28-3 comeback during Super Bowl LI. After going down 28 – 3 at one point, the Pats stormed back to force overtime and snag victory from the jaws of defeat. It is perhaps the greatest sports moment in Boston history, due to how absolutely insane that comeback was.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, their road to a comeback against the Blue Jays is much harder. Unlike in football, they could only score one point at a time. Unless Toronto suddenly forgets how to do every task on the field, this game is already over.

With the trade deadline just a week away, it's interesting to see what moves the front office will do after this horrific stretch of games.
