Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has made himself at home with his new team. However, it seems he is still keeping tabs on the Minnesota Vikings.

Peterson has not been shy about his bitterness toward his former team. According to Chris Lingebach of 106.7 The Fan, he is hoping to beat the Vikings in the playoffs:

“It would be fun to knock them out of the playoffs.”

Peterson's comments should come as no surprise. He is clearly still disgruntled with his unceremonious departure from Minnesota. He has thrown jabs at his former team on multiple occasion. However, it appears he is now looking to take it a step further by potentially beating them in the playoffs.

Peterson's agenda is certainly understandable. He spent his prime years in Minnesota breaking records and providing countless highlights for the fans. The sacrifices and contributions he made to the franchise cannot be denied. Unfortunately for him, the team was ready to start a new era and felt his best days were behind him.

Peterson's career hit a few rough patches following his departure from the Vikings. He endured a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals before finally establishing himself as the workhorse back in Washington. Through it all, he hardly passed up on an opportunity to take digs at his former team.

Fortunately, Peterson now has a chance to make the ultimate statement. Washington currently sits atop a lackluster NFC East while Minnesota is half a game behind the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. Although there is plenty of football left to play, there is a very good chance that they do meet in the playoffs. It is safe to assume that Peterson will be looking to make his presence felt if the time comes.
