The Washington Redskins will be without wide receiver Jamison Crowder for their Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons due to an ankle injury, per John Keim of ESPN.

Crowder has missed the last three games due to the ankle injury, which he suffered in the team's Week 5 defeat against the New Orleans Saints.

The 25-year-old Crowder was among the team's most consistent receivers over the last couple of years as he established a nice chemistry with Kirk Cousins. He was the team’s leading receiver last year with 66 catches for 789 yards and had 847 yards with seven touchdowns in 2016.

However, he is having a down year this season with Alex Smith. He has just 13 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown in four games thus far this season.

Despite Crowder’s absence from the line, the Redskins have still won three games in a row. Tight end Jordan Reed, as well as wide receivers Josh Doctson, Paul Richardson, and Maurice Harris have stepped up as Smith’s primary receiving weapons during that time.

Adrian Peterson has also continued to play very well. The 33-year-old has rushed for 345 yards over the last three weeks.

The Redskins will look to keep that impressive winning run going against the Falcons, who have struggled against the pass this season. Atlanta is 30th in terms of pass completion percentage allowed at 70 percent as well as passing yards allowed at 307.
