The Boston Celtics were one of the most active teams this off-season. The organization traded the first selection in the 2017 NBA Draft to the Philadelphia 76ers for the third pick and a future first round pick from the Lakers or the Kings. After that, they signed All-Star forward Gordon Hayward to a four-year, $128 million deal.

However, to make that deal work, Celtics needed to shed some salary. They did that by first renouncing their rights to center Kelly Olynyk, but the financial side of the signing still did not work.

For some time, it was suspected that the C's were working on a sign-and-trade, where forward Jae Crowder was going to become a member of the Jazz. There were also speculations about a Marcus Smart trade.

However, the Celtics decided to trade guard Avery Bradley to the Detroit Pistons and save some salary. This means, and Adam Himmelsbach from the Boston Globe confirms, that Crowder is staying in Boston.

According to Himmelsbach, the Celtics are going to see all the lineup possibilities with their four small forwards in Hayward, Crowder and young studs Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
