It's been a tough week for the New York Jets.

Gang Green's offense was throttled during last Sunday's loss in Kansas City. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw no touchdowns and six interceptions, and star wide receiver Eric Decker injured his shoulder.

Head coach Todd Bowles disclosed the extent of Decker's ailment on Friday. From the New York Jets' official Twitter account:

Bowles: WR Eric Decker has a partial tear in his rotator cuff. He's out for #SEAvsNYJ and will be week-to-week going forward.

Bowles added that it's too early to tell if Decker will need surgery.

Losing Decker for a matchup with a great secondary like the Legion of Boom makes the timing of this especially poor. Prior to the season, the Jets had high playoff hopes, but falling to 1-3 would make the road to the postseason even more treacherous.

Even though Decker is one of the best red zone targets in the NFL, the Jets can still turn to Brandon Marshall and an emerging (albeit inconstant) Quincy Enunwa.

New York avoided disaster against Buffalo when Marshall's knee was rolled up on by a tackler. Fans immediately panicked, which was understandable watching the replay. Miraculously, Marshall actually returned to the game that evening.
