The Dallas Mavericks benefitted more than anyone from the Warriors' acquisition of Kevin Durant (other than the Dubs themselves).

Golden State had to dump contracts and Dallas was right there in position to scoop up Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut from them.

Barnes was given a max deal and Dallas hopes he blossoms into a star with a more prominent role, while Bogut is on the decline but still a very productive player. Even more than productive, according to Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle:

“You know, it gives us not only a legitimate starting center, but it gives us one of the best centers in the game,” Carlisle said while addressing the trade for Bogut during a recent interview with NBA TV.

‘One of the best centers in the league' might be a little bit of a stretch. Bogut only plays a little over 20 minutes a night now and he hasn't averaged double-digit scoring since the 2011-12 season.

Bogut is definitely one of the best rim protectors in the game and was a huge reason why the Warriors were so stout on that end over the last two years. Golden State fans also won't hesitate to remind you that Bogut got injured midway through last year's NBA Finals before they lost. He was an important part of that team.

Past his prime though, Bogut can no longer be called one of the best centers in the game. Maybe one of the best defensive centers, but Carlisle seems to be overrating his new guy here.
