Over their seven-game winning streak, the Houston Rockets seemed to adopt a quality that they haven't yet shaken, which was seen in an incredible comeback victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. They've successfully been able to be competitive in all of their games since both Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green went down.

Ironically enough, most of their success has come on the backs of their awesome offense (third in the NBA in the last 10 games). Adding shooting to the main rotation has them clicking on a level they weren't able to do before the win streak.

Let's take a look at some Rockets takeaways from the 132-126 victory over the Hawks, which saw Houston score 44 points in the fourth quarter.

Houston Rockets Takeaways

1. D.J. Augustin still has some juice left

Veteran guard D.J. Augustin is owed an apology. Contrary to prior belief, Augustin is still proving to be very capable rotation player for Houston.

Augustin has always been an under-the-radar shooter in the NBA. The veteran owns a career 3-point percentage of 38.1. In fact, this season he's shooting an off-the-charts 46.4% from distance on 2.4 attempts per game. He'll undoubtedly cool off, but in the meantime, Houston has reaped the benefits of his added floor spacing. Additionally, he's just a smart veteran who doesn't make many mistakes, which is helpful for this team in the turnover department.

Monday, Augustine poured in 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, 6-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 shooting from the charity stripe. He did this in only 22 minutes off the bench for Houston. Augustin may be a name to watch in these next couple months in trade discussions. Augustin is making $14.3 million over the next two season. When you combine that with his play, that's probably second-round pick value.

Houston could use the roster spot for other trades and to convert Garrison Mathews to a standard deal later this season.

2. David Nwaba comes back from the dead

Nwaba is a rugged defender on the wing who can hit the occasional 3-pointer. He hasn't done all that much after signing a three-year deal in the offseason, but if the organization is patient, he may be good deadline fodder next season.

Nwaba played 11 minutes, scored 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field, and took the Trae Young assignment at times. His fingerprints were all over this game for the Rockets. He may not play at all once Green comes back, but it's just the latest reminder that Houston's rotation could use a little trimming around the edges.

“That's the whole part of being a professional,” said Nwaba on the up-and-down nature of his playing time. “You just have to stay ready. I have teammates in my ear telling me to stay ready. And I did that.”

3. Eric Gordon keeps up moving with 32 points

What more can be said about Eric Gordon?  He's one of the best role players in the league on a reasonable contract with a year and a half remaining at the time of the trade deadline. Christian Wood is a monster screen-and-dive center who can stretch to downtown to shoot 3s. He's going to make a playoff team in either conference really happy.

Monday, Gordon had 32-points, three rebounds, three assists, and a steal on 10-of-16 shooting from the field, 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range, and 7-of-9 shooting from the free-throw line. 10 of those 32 points came in the fourth quarter, a frame in which he did not miss a field goal, 3-pointer, or free throw.

“I want to win the game,” said Gordon on his performance. “That's what matters. I wouldn't have this great feeling if I scored this many points and didn't win. Like I said [before], winning is the most important thing.”
