The Houston Rockets had one of the most busy nights at the 2021 NBA Draft. They ended up with four first-round picks total as they try to continue rebuilding after the James Harden trade from last year.

At No. 2 overall, the Rockets selected Jalen Green, who many thought would be a No. 1 pick in a lot of other drafts. After that they took Alperen Sengun at No. 16, a pick they acquired from the Thunder.

There will be plenty of new faces on the Rockets in 2021 but one familiar one returning will be Christian Wood. And he seemed more than thrilled and filled with optimism at what Houston did in the draft.

While contending for the postseason might still be a couple years away, getting the popcorn ready for next year is a fair suggestion from the Rockets forward.

Houston may end up having a very entertaining team to watch next season as the organization will start to find out what they truly have in Jalen Green and their other selections.

Wood himself averaged 21.0 points per game to go along with 9.6 rebounds per contest last season for the Rockets. He was limited to just 41 games as he battled injuries off and on. If healthy and alongside Green, the Rockets figure to be an intriguing watch at minimum next year. The rebuild will continue on but they have a couple of players now that would be deemed “League Pass worthy.” Wood knows this and now, he can't wait to get it going next season in Houston.
