Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey may exude a calm and collected presence whenever he faces the media, but as it turns out, the 47-year-old high-ranking executive is actually a complete mess whenever he watches his team play.

Talking to Ben Cohen and Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal, Morey did not hold back, and provided the readers with a shockingly honest self-assessment on why he believes he does not happen to be a very good spectator of the game.

“Because I’m stupid,” Daryl Morey explained. “Every one of our games matters more. I can’t get out of my head how much they matter, and I just find that I’m reacting to the dumbest stuff.”

As if that wasn't clear enough, Morey gave us even more details on how he pretty much obsesses on the pettiest of things during ballgames, which prevents him from keeping his focus on the bigger picture.

“We do everything right, and then we miss, and so I’m just really angry that we did everything right,” Morey said. “Or some bad shooter on the other team is hitting shots on us. And I’m like, well, what the f— is happening? We’re following everything, and it’s still not working.”

That's one way of looking at things, I guess. What's surprising, though, is how Morey seemed very comfortable describing his own stupidity. We're not entirely sure what kind of message — if there even is one — he wants to send out here, so we'll just leave it at that.
