Prior to Thursday afternoon's trade deadline, the Houston Rockets upgraded the roster by trading for Iman Shumpert in a three-team deal. The Rockets have the ability to add at least two more players, and they are prepared to be aggressive on the buyout market, according to The Athletic’s Alykhan Bijani:

The Rockets are no stranger to the buyout market. Last season, they were able to make roster additions with players like Brandan Wright and Joe Johnson, and this season they have already added Austin Rivers and Kenneth Faried.

It is unclear who is on the Rockets’ radar as of right now. There is a good chance that Houston has its eye on bringing in some more shooting off the bench or even another big man or two.

Many players have hit the free-agent market in just one day after the trade deadline, and many more are expected to follow, so Daryl Morey won’t be short of options by any means. No matter what need they look to fill, it is likely that they will opt for a veteran player who has experience in the playoffs. Morey wasn’t shy, nor has he ever been, in expressing that their goal is to win it all and get James Harden and Chris Paul their first rings.
