On October 26, a Houston Rockets fan punched New Orleans Pelicans assistant coach Joe Boylan in the face.

The Rockets fan, Manuel Garcia, has been charged with assault and the Rockets have banned him for life.

Per ESPN:

Prosecutors charged Manuel Garcia with misdemeanor assault for allegedly punching Pelicans assistant coach Joe Boylan in the face Saturday. Garcia's girlfriend was also arrested for allegedly preventing police from getting to Garcia.

The Pelicans issued a statement to ESPN, saying: “We are aware of this incident but will have no further comment.”

Harris County District Attorney's Office prosecutor Nathan Beedle said he won't speculate on a motive but added, “We will get to the bottom of this and hold them both accountable for their actions.”

The Rockets defeated the Pelicans by a final score of 126-123. Houston, led by MVPs James Harden and Russell Westbrook, is 2-1 on the season. The Rockets lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on opening night, but have since defeated the Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Rockets take on Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards on Wednesday in the nation's capital. They will look to win their third straight game and continue to develop on-court chemistry between Harden and Westbrook.
