There are several reasons why NBA GMs think Jalen Green will win the Rookie of the Year award this 2021-22, and the Houston Rockets guard showed one of those reasons on Tuesday in their preseason game against Kyle Kuzma and the Washington Wizards.

Right in the opening minutes of the game, Green showed how polished his game is at the expense of the Wizards. Kuzma had no chance at all against the second pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, as the Rockets youngster left him in the dust with a sweet crossover move for a clear path to the basket,

While two Wizards were able to get on his way, even that kind of defense was not enough to stop him from scoring. Green finished a tough lay-in to give the Rockets all the momentum they need early on.

All the Kyle Kuzma jokes aside, Jalen Green certainly looks ready for the NBA. Although preseason basketball is entirely different from the regular season games and the playoffs, the Rockets have to love what they have seen from their lottery pick so far.

After a sensational summer league where he averaged 20.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 52.6 percent from deep, Green is picking up where he left off. He finished Tuesday's game with 12 points, six rebounds and two assists, but his numbers should steadily increase as he gets used to playing with Kevin Porter Jr. and the rest of the Rockets.
