Thursday's game between the Houston Rockets and the Utah Jazz marked a historic moment for Filipino fans. The game marked the first time two players of Filipino descent played against each other: rookie Jalen Green versus reigning Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson. To commemorate this, the Rockets earlier announced a Filipino Heritage Night to celebrate this occasion.

After the game, Green and Clarkson got together for a short question-and-answer with some special Rockets fans. Clearly, the two were all smiles and pretty pleased with the event. (via PHSports LiveScores)

Both Clarkson and Green are familiar with their background as Filipinos. Clarkson, in particular, said this about his and the Rockets rookie's impact on their country: (via Deseret)

“Just us two being here is super inspirational for the youth and every Filipino-American, every Filipino, anybody with Filipino blood. I feel like it’s just an amazing experience, something that can’t be done again because (it was) the first. Hopefully we see more.”

Clarkson also took to Instagram to hype up Green, praising the Rockets rookie. (via @jclarksons on IG)

“@jalen is special, glad to share this moment in history, keep representing brodie!!!”

Rockets fans attending the game, though, didn't have much to cheer for basketball-wise. The Jazz, a title contender this year, showed no mercy to the rebuilding Rockets, as they thoroughly stomped them 122 – 91. Jordan Clarkson scored 16 points from his usual bench role for the Jazz, while Jalen Green scored 13 points for the home team.

Overall, Filipino fans have something to look forward to in the NBA season, as their two stars prove to be exciting players in the league. The next matchup between the Rockets and the Jazz is on January 20 next year. We'll see if Green can equalize his matchup against his kababayan.
