Houston Rockets superstar James Harden is having quite the historical season, statistically speaking. On Friday, he locked up a feat that no other player has accomplished in NBA history.
With just 26 points and 8 assists last night, Harden officially became the first player ever to average 35-plus points and 7-plus assists in a single season, per Rob Kimbell on Twitter.

No Wilt, no Kareem, no MJ, no Kobe. Harden is alone on top.
Harden is currently averaging 36.2 points and 7.6 assists over 76 games this season. The Rockets have two games remaining on their schedule, next against the Phoenix Suns and the last against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
If Harden suddenly goes ice cold and unfathomably doesn't score or assist in those last pair of games, he would still average 35.2 PPG and 7.4 APG.
However, with a one-and-a-half game lead over the fourth place Portland Trailblazers, the Rockets may opt to give Harden a night off before embarking on another jouney towards the NBA championship for the next two to three months.
The reigning NBA MVP has raised his game even further this season, especially after Houston's abysmal start to their 2018-19 campaign.
The Rockets were at 14th in the West at some point in December. It seemed like their season was going to crumble and fold right in front of our eyes, especially after Chris Paul went down with a harmstring injury.
With his fellow All-Star guard out of commission, The Beard had to carry Houston on his back. They went 12-5 in CP3's absence with Harden's heavy lifting on offense.
As amazing and historical as his regular season was, the true test for Harden will be about how he performs in the post-season.
