Rockets’ James Harden wins 2019 NBPA Toughest to Guard Award
James Harden averaged 36.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.5 assists during the regular season while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 87.9 percent from the foul line. The Beard scored at least 30 points 32 games in a row at one point in the season for the Rockets. Harden scored at least 50 points nine times. He has established himself as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.
Harden’s step-back jumper is impossible to defend. Some believe the Rockets star travels on his step-back jumper, but no defender has figured out a way to stop the seven-time All-Star and former MVP from getting to his sweet spot on the floor and dancing on defenders.
Unfortunately, the Rockets have been in the news for all the wrong reasons this summer. Multiple reports came out stating Harden and Chris Paul didn’t get along this past season and that general manager Daryl Morey was looking to trade Paul, Clint Capela, Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker. So far, Houston hasn’t made any notable moves.
