The Houston Rockets have officially been eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Golden State Warriors 118-113 in Game 6 of the Western Conference semi-finals. But what could haunt the Rockets in the coming days is the fact that almost everything went in their favor, but they were still unable to get the win… something coach Mike D'Antoni agonized in their postgame presser.

The Warriors were without Kevin Durant (strained calf) in Game 6. In addition, their second best player Stephen Curry was held scoreless in the first half of the game. At that point, it seems that all the Rockets needed to do was to blow the game wide open in order to force a Game 7. Unfortunately for them, the two-time MVP sharpshooter erupted for 33 points in the second half, including a dagger 3-pointer with around two minutes left in the fourth quarter that pushed the Warriors up for good. D'Antoni expected Curry to bounce back in the second half of the game, but he didn't expect that he will score that much.

The Rockets squandered all the opportunities handed to them in Game 6, and they paid a hefty price for it as they lost to the Warriors in the playoffs for the second straight year. D'Antoni admitted that this is a loss that will definitely leave a mark on him and his players, as they were once again unable to beat their arch-nemesis in the postseason.

This summer, the Rockets are expected to find ways to once again improve their roster, with the hopes of finally winning the championship next season.
