Houston Rockets veteran forward PJ Tucker was spotted wearing New Balance sneakers during his team's media day on Friday.

As ESPN's Tim MacMahon noted on Twitter, the 34-year-old Tucker — who had been a Nike guy — “walked into the Rockets’ media day wearing a pair of New Balance.”

The 6-foot-6 Tucker has been on the Rockets since the 2017-18 season. Entering his third year with the Western Conference franchise, Tucker appeared in all 82 regular-season games for Houston the past two seasons.

Additionally, Tucker has held it down as the main defensive cog in the team's lineup alongside center Clint Capela, frequently doing the dirty work for the Rockets on that end of the floor. When Houston could no longer keep Capela on the floor due to play style changes, Tucker played the super-small-ball 5, logging 21 percent of his playoff minutes this past postseason at center.

Should Tucker leave Nike for New Balance, that would tally another NBA player joining the NB crew. While historically known as more of a “dadwear” collection, New Balance returned to relevance after signing two-time Finals MVP and new Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard to an endorsement deal.

Tucker has averaged 6.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 31.0 minutes per game for the Rockets, shooting 39.3 percemt from the field, 37.4 percent from deep and 70.6 percent from the free throw line.

Tucker signed a four-year contract with Houston in the offseason prior to the 2017-18 NBA season, so he is inked through 2020-21.
