After spending a full season in the NBA's G League, Terrence Jones was given another chance to play for the team that drafted him when the Houston Rockets offered him a 10-day contract near the end of February.
Even though he earned a second 10-day contract, the Rockets are now cutting ties with Jones, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston:

Terrence Jones barely even left the bench for the Rockets, playing a total of just five minutes in only two appearances in his second stint with the team.
The former Kentucky standout was once a pivotal rotation player for the Rockets after he was drafted in 2012, firmly establishing himself as a starter in his second season. In that 2013-14 campaign, Jones made 71 starts and averaged 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds along with 1.3 blocks per game.
He was on his way to yet another productive season in his third year as a pro, averaging 1.8 blocks per game in 2014-15 despite being an undersized power forward.
However, Jones suffered a shoulder injury that forced him out for the rest of the season and put a damper on his career. He has also dealt with ankle injuries and other challenges to his durability; an accumulation of bumps and bruises forced him into a G-League stint.
It looks like Jones will be headed back to the minors after barely getting his first taste of NBA action in over a year.
The Rockets do not need Jones on their roster with the emergence of Kenneth Faried. It doesn't help Jones that Houston head coach Mike D'Antoni prefers using small-ball lineups with P.J. Tucker at the four.
