Two games after his return from a hamstring injury, Chris Paul might return to the sidelines again due to a sore lower back. Per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Paul was given a questionable tag ahead of Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets.

After suffering a hamstring injury on Dec. 20, Paul subsequently missed 17 games for the Rockets. He returned to play on Jan. 27 and Jan. 29 against the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans. In these games, it was apparent that Paul was still rusty from inaction. But just before he could establish a rhythm, it seems that the 33-year-old would have to check his health first.

Initially, Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni planned to increase Paul's minutes. For the season, he averages 32.6 minutes per night. D'Antoni noted that Paul's presence is especially needed in the fourth quarter.

“It's crucial to have him in there in the fourth quarter. Between the nine-minute mark and the three-minute mark is when you win or lose games. You get down to the end, a shot goes in or a shot goes out, you get a call or don't get a call. But those minutes are crucial.”

With another Paul injury lingering about, it seems that reigning MVP James Harden will have to put his best foot forward yet again.
