The Houston Rockets would reportedly only go over the luxury tax line if they could get veteran small forward Andre Iguodala, according to Clutch Fans.

Iguodala is with the Memphis Grizzlies and owed $17,185,185 next season. It's unclear if Memphis is willing to buy out Iguodala. There have been rumors the Grizzlies are looking for a first-round pick in return for Iggy, who was the 2015 Finals MVP with the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors were forced to trade Iguodala because they needed to free up cap space to land All-Star point guard D’Angelo Russell in a sign-and-trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets involving superstar Kevin Durant.

This past season, Andre Iguodala averaged 5.7 points and 3.2 assists for the Warriors. He put up 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the 2019 postseason. The Dubs lost to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals in six games.

It would be really strange to see Iguodala in a Rockets jersey after all the battles he's had with Houston as a member of the Warriors. Iguodala almost signed with the Rockets back in 2017 before re-signing with the Warriors on a three-year deal worth $48 million.

Iguodala, 35, has career averages of 12.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists. The Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers are also said to be interested in acquiring him.
