Wednesday night's marquee matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets was bound to deliver some intense play on the court sprinkled with some nifty highlights from the two powerhouse teams out West. Things got off to a great start, as James Harden nailed a huge four-point play before halftime to draw the Rockets' gap closer towards the Warriors' early lead and to pump back some much-needed life into the H-Town crowd.
Here's the clip of the reigning MVP drilling a long bomb over Golden State's Draymond Green, who bit on Harden's subtle jab step and was called for the untimely foul:

In a battle between two modern-day greats, The Beard proved that his strong offense was better than the former Defensive Player of the Year's D on this sweet play. And if Harden continues to hit clutch shots like these, he could very well become a back-to-back MVP winner when all is said and done.
Unfortunately for the Rockets, their nine-game winning streak was snapped by their heated Rivals from the Pacific with a brutal 106-104 loss.
On the bright side, Houston's still pretty much in line with securing home court advantage in the postseason, currently hanging on to the fourth seed in the Western Conference playoff picture. However, the Oklahoma City Thunder leap-frogged them in the standings for the No. 3 seed in the wake of the Rockets' defeat.
The Warriors, meanwhile, bounced back from their humiliating defeat to the Phoenix Suns earlier in the week with a crucial road victory over one of their more feared opponents come playoff time. Only two games separates them and the Denver Nuggets for the top spot in the West's postseason race.
