‘Ain't no love in the heart of the city, ain't no love in the heart of town.'

Just like the words of Jay-Z, Philadelphia 76ers number one overall selection Ben Simmons seems to get no love from his fellow rookies.

Who will be Rookie of the Year?

According to a rookie survey by NBA.com, Simmons sits at a 19.4% vote to win the Rookie of the Year Award. That's below Los Angeles Lakers number two overall pick Brandon Ingram, who received 25.8% of the votes, and the favorite to win the award, Kris Dunn of the Minnesota Timberwolves at 29%.

Who will have the best career?

Simmons ended up being tied for 4th place on this one at merely 6.7%, below the likes of Dunn, Ingram, and New Orleans Pelicans selection Buddy Hield.

Who's the most athletic?

Another strike out for Simmons as he didn't even place in the top six with less than 6.5% of total votes. Boston Celtics pick Jaylen Brown finished first with a whopping 38.7%.

Best playmaker?

The 6-foot-9 forward finished second with 26.5% to Dunn's 29.4%.

So which rookie is bound to make a splash?

Perhaps the bigger story isn't the lack of love for Simmons, but the overwhelming respect Dunn has gotten from his fellow rookies, finishing very high in most categories.

Simmons has built this reputation for having monster-like skill but very little work ethic, while Dunn is a proven four-year college product that had improved with every passing year.

The 22-year-old Providence alum is a fantastic defender with great instincts and has honed his game addressing his deficiencies every offseason.

This kind of mindset has proven to work in the NBA, while there's been plenty of mind-blowing talent gone to waste by lack of effort and willingness to listen and put in the work.

We'll see what awaits Ben Simmons at the end of this 2016-2017 season and see if these survey results come true or not.
