New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons of late. The 22-year-old recently got his felony gun charges dismissed, but this has done little to salvage his tarnished reputation. This unsurprisingly has some folks wondering if the Jets have already placed Williams on the trading block.

As it is, there have been contradicting reports pertaining to Williams availability. According to Manish Metha of the Daily News, the Jets are definitely shopping the embattled DL:

The Daily News has learned that the Jets are shopping defensive lineman Quinnen Williams with the hope of moving him for a fair price before the Nov. 3 trade deadline.

Metha appears to be adamant with his insider information. He also reports that the Jets are well aware of Williams' depleted value, and that they “won’t require a first-round pick in return”.

On the contrary, several other reports claim that the team's front office remains keen on keeping Williams in New York:

Admittedly, we're a bit confused ourselves. Does the notion of “majority wins” apply to this situation?

It remains to be seen if Williams will remain with the Jets in the foreseeable future, but what's clear is that his legal bout has had an adverse effect on what has been an impressive sophomore campaign for the former third overall pick.

The Jets are now 0-7 to start the season, and are the only remaining team that has yet to log a victory. A major shakeup seems inevitable at this point, and unfortunately for him, Williams might just be part of the fire sale.
