Michael Thomas is still unable to see action as he remains on the injured reserve, but the New Orleans Saints wide receiver managed to get attention in Week 13 when he shared an eye-catching comment via his now-deleted X (formerly Twitter) account which seemed like a shot at quarterback Derek Carr.
Among the comments Thomas made was his observation about wideout A.T. Perry not getting a look despite being wide open during one moment of the Saints' meeting with the Detroit Lions last Sunday.
“When you eyes don't work you get people hurt it's no mystery. And it's something that needs to be studied,” Thomas stated.
Even though Thomas has already deleted his X account, his posts have become the talk of Saints Town. New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen was asked about Thomas' social media behavior over the weekend and didn't offer much of an answer.
“We’ll keep that in-house,” Allen said, per Patrick Magee of NOLA.com.
The Saints have bigger problems to attend to than a potential drama involving Thomas. For one, Carr is currently in concussion protocol, leaving his availability for Week 14's scheduled showdown versus the Carolina Panthers at home in question. If he can't go, New Orleans will most likely turn to Jameis Winston for starting quarterback duties.
The Saints, who are coming off a 33-28 loss to the Lions, are just 19th in the league with 21.4 points per game and only 17th in pass completion rate (64.81%).
Allen's Saints are sporting a 5-7 record — good for just second in the NFC South division.
