The New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars game on Monday night was unfortunately filled with injuries. Jaguars rookie Travis Etienne is out for the season, which is a huge blow for them. Saints tight end Adam Trautman also had to be carted off.

According to Nick Underhill, there is some positive news on Trautman.

This is huge news for the Saints, who are expecting big things from Trautman with whoever is starting at quarterback. Currently, Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill are slated for the job, but it appears that Winston could have crept ahead of Hill after his impressive performance on Monday night as he threw a pair of touchdown passes to Marquez Callaway.

So, it appears that Trautman should not miss extended time, but we will have to wait for more updates on the Saints starting tight end. Jared Cook left for the Los Angeles Chargers, thus paving the way for big things from Trautman, who underwhelmed in his first year, posting just 15 catches for 171 yards and one score as the Saints went through a weird season.

Still, this is huge news for Payton and the Saints, and only time will tell if he ends up having to miss a couple of weeks to nurse the injury.
