It may have been Kobe Bryant's last game, but it doesn't mean his old teammate didn't believe he could score 50 points.

Shaquille O'Neal and Bryant will forever be associated with one another when it comes to NBA history. Perhaps better than anyone, O'Neal knows what the “Black Mamba” is capable of, having won three championships with him in eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.

While Bryant hadn't scored more than 38 points in a single game prior to the regular season finale, his old teammate challenged him to score 50 points versus the Utah Jazz:

Bryant had one more great game left in him as he scored 60 points in a 101-96 victory over the Jazz. The Lakers had trailed by 10 points with a little over three minutes remaining in the game, before Bryant scored 15 points to lead Los Angeles to a come-from-behind victory.

It was Kobe's sixth 60-point game in his career, the second-most in NBA history.
