When the Philadelphia 76ers released the plans for a new stadium in the city, the organization knew what to expect. As one of the most passionate in all of sports, the Sixers' fan base wasn't afraid to voice its opinions on the $1.3 billion project.

However, to the Sixers‘ chagrin, a lot of the fans' opinions weren't positive ones.

Combing through Twitter, there are seemingly endless negative tweets about the location of the stadium, coming in about a decade.

Take this hilarious tweet from popular Philly sports account, Life of a Philly Fan, for example.

According to the Sixers' release, “76 Place” will be located “on a portion of the current site of Fashion District Philadelphia and serve as an anchor to Center City.” In the eyes of Philadelphians, this just means that it will bring even more traffic to an already largely congested area.

Other fans took it a step further, bringing their other beloved Philadelphia sports teams into the conversation.

Eagles Nation tweeted a comical breaking news update regarding a satirical plan to move Lincoln Financial Field “directly beneath Philadelphia City Hall.”

Of course, we can't forget about the Philadelphia Phillies and Citizens Bank Park. Phillies Muse proposed another satirical plan to move The Bank to 6th & Market Street in 2054.

Finally, check out this meme that @inthephanattic tweeted Thursday morning. The hilarious post pokes fun at the “wildly inconvenient Sixers arena.” In the same breath, it also points out that the stadium will open around the same time that Bryce Harper's massive contract with the Phillies ends.

76 Place will be the only professional sports stadium in Center City Philadelphia. The rest, including the Sixers‘ current home in the Wells Fargo Center, are part of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
