DeMarcus Cousins is the newest reason why Twitter engineers are busy right now trying to keep the popular social media platform from exploding into smithereens of shock-filled tweets. With Cousins reportedly agreeing to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, the defending champions just took a big step towards looking like a carbon copy of Team USA.
Technically speaking, however, Cousins is not yet a Warrior, as he can only put ink on paper until after July 6, when the moratorium is lifted to pave the way for verbal agreements to become official. It’s something Sixers center Joel Embiid is very much aware of, as evidenced by this hilarious tweet from the big man.
It’s a subtle message for LeBron James, who might want to go back to the Eastern Conference with the possibility of him returning the NBA Finals getting even dimmer with DeMarcus Cousins’ addition to the Warriors.
Of course, Joel Embiid is just messing around like he always does on Twitter, but that does not change the fact that the Warriors have virtually barricaded the path of the other Western Conference teams to the NBA Finals, including the Los Angeles Lakers, whose acquisition of James is not going to be enough for them to get past Golden State.
If you’re a Sixers fan, though, you would want LeBron James to stay in the West.
