Sixers forward Mike Muscala suffered a fractured nose and cut on his face in an on-court collision during Tuesday's practice. As a result, the Minnesota native is expected to be sidelined for at least one week, according to an official report from the team.

According to the Sixers' medical report, Muscala received six stitches for the laceration on his face and will wear a protective mask once he is cleared for action. He'll be re-evaluated in one week.

Muscala, now 27 years of age, is in his first season with the Sixers. He's made eight appearances with the team thus far, racking up averages of 7.4 points on 42.5 percent shooting from the field (34.5 percent from beyond the arc), 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20.6 minutes per outing.

Muscala logged 28 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 122-97 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, but failed to score. However, he did record three rebounds and two assists. The Sixers committed 28 turnovers, most in the NBA this season, which led to 39 points for the Nets.

“That is not who we are,” 76ers head coach Brett Brown told ESPN after Sunday's loss. “And I give credit to Brooklyn, but that is an unacceptable performance.”

With Muscala ruled out for an undisclosed period of time, Sixers head coach Brett Brown will likely call on Dario Saric and Amir Johnson to fill the void at power forward.

Currently, the Sixers are carrying a 6-5 overall record, which is good for a 3rd place ranking in the Atlantic Division. Injuries have been an issue through the early stages of this season, to be sure. In fact, there are five players listed on Philly's injury report, including Muscala.

The Sixers will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'l travel to Indiana for a match-up against the Pacers. Tip-off inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse is set for 8:00 p.m. EST with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
