With the trade deadline only a few days away, teams are continuing to be active ahead of it and are looking for possible deals that could help their current situations. One of them is the Philadelphia 76ers, who are looking to add some more assets to their fold.

The 76ers are reportedly looking to be buyers before Thursday, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN. They still have a first round pick available that they could deal and use to get some second rounders in exchange for it.

“The Sixers are acting as buyers, per league sources. They have only one extra first-round pick left, so that might limit their purchasing power to whatever they can nab for second-rounders.”

The Sixers currently have a good mix of young guns and veterans and through 50 games are headed for a dogfight for one of the last playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. That said, if they'll be able to acquire more assets that can be useful to them in the coming years, it could lead to more success for them and become perennial playoff contenders.

Their roster looks set and staying put could be the best move they can do for now. Converting the first-rounder to more picks will definitely place them in a better position in the future, and the 76ers front office knows that by now. It will be an interesting next few days for them and their executives are expected to weigh in on the options they can take by then.
