If you've been wanting to go back to the original StarCraft story but too put off by the game's dated graphics, then this fan-made StarCraft: Mass Recall is for you.

StarCraft: Mass Recall is a fan-made campaign on StarCraft II

Both StarCraft II and the original StarCraft games are both already ancient by today's standards, but fans still hold them in high regard. StarCraft, most especially, is well-loved by fans and looked up to by many as the father of esports. Now, you can re-experience (or experience for the first time) StarCraft using its sequel's engine.

StarCraft: Mass Recall is “a project that recreates the classic Starcraft and Brood War gameplay as well as the entire single-player campaigns within the Starcraft 2 engine.” It contains 68 maps, including 3 that were either hidden or deleted from the complete release of the game. This map is usable even with the free Starter edition of the game.

New version 8 Anniversary Edition out now

While this project has been in the works since 2014, it resurfaced as its creators released its anniversary edition. The creators included a bonus campaign, the Enslavers Redux, in this version of its release.

To know more about this project, you can check out the project's thread on the Team Liquid forums here. To see how the game looks like when you play it, you can check out a full playthrough with commentary by Jayborino here. Do note that the version Jayborino played in is v6.0.
