The Pittsburgh Steelers will have an extra week to get patched up thanks to their first-round bye. While the much-needed break should pay dividends for the Steelers, it seems they are already starting to look forward to the seeing who they will play.
Among them is veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Although most teams usually try not to become fixated on any opponent in particular, Roethlisberger could not help but admit he would like another shot at the Jacksonville Jaguars during an appearance on “The Cook and Poni Show” with 93.7 The Fan:
“Obviously, any game that we’re going to play since it’s the postseason is going to be a difficult opponent, but I think just for me personally I’d love to just prove that five interceptions wasn’t me in that game,” Roethlisberger said.
Given Roethlisberger's history of taking things one week at a time, his comments may come as a bit of a surprise. However, given his performance against the Jaguars in early October, it makes sense that he would like to get some revenge.
Roethlisberger finished with 312 yards and five interceptions en route to the Steelers' worst loss of the year. That said, Jaguars will first need to take care of business in the Wild Card Round versus the Buffalo Bills in order for Roethlisberger to get his shot.
