The Pittsburgh Steelers may have their No. 1 back in James Conner, but that did not step them from adding some depth in the NFL Draft, selecting Kentucky's Benny Snell in the fourth round.

Snell is not only set to become a key cog in the Steelers' backfield, but he is also setting out to follow in the footsteps of a couple of legendary running backs:

“My style is hard nose football,” Snell told Jim Wexell of 247 Sports. “I’m grinding for every yard. I’m physical in the pass protection. I’m a physical player. I want to mirror myself after like a Marshawn Lynch or an Adrian Peterson. Just fighting for extra yards and giving your all.”

Snell had an outstanding collegiate career and is coming off of a junior campaign in which he racked up 1,449 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging five yards per carry.

The 21-year-old is also thrilled to be a member of the Steelers organization:

“I felt like I was made to be a Steeler,” Snell recently said during an interview on 93.7 The Fan. “It was just right. It feels right. This is my type of football and the fit was just perfect.”

Snell arrived at Kentucky in 2016 and immediately showed his brilliant talent, rushing for 1,091 yards and 13 scores while registering 5.9 yards per attempt during his freshman year. Then, he followed that up by totaling 1,333 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground in his sophomore season, recording 5.1 yards per carry.

Pittsburgh went 9-6-1 this past season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
