The Pittsburgh Steelers won their first game of the season on Monday night but defensive lineman Cam Heyward still thinks they are right in the mix in the AFC North.

Heyward said after the game that he knows how tough the AFC North is but thinks they still have everything out in front of them, especially with a showdown with the Baltimore Ravens coming up on Sunday.

“AFC North football is huge. We just want to be in the mix and right now we are. Not saying we’re leading the division or anything but all we did was certify that we can be part of the mix. We’ve got to be better next week. We’ve got a monster in Lamar Jackson. But right now we’ll enjoy this one,” Heyward said via Pro Football Talk.

The Steelers struggled, losing their first three-game of the season but the good news for them is none of those games were against AFC North opponents. They are sitting with a 1-3 record but still have seven games left against the North.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns are tied at the top of the division with a 2-2 record. The Steelers face off against the Ravens at home and are currently sitting as 3.5 point underdogs. If they can beat the Ravens and the Browns go on the road and lose to the 49ers, the Steelers could be tied at the top of the AFC North. Those are both big if's, but it's clear that the Steelers still have a path to winning the AFC North.
