The streaking Pittsburgh Steelers led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger leaned on an under-the-radar contributor in their most recent matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Steelers rookie wide receiver Chase Claypool generated four touchdowns on Sunday, including a game-sealing score with 2:59 remaining to lift his team to a 38-29 win over the Eagles. This improved the Steelers to a 4-0 start for the first time since 1979.

Claypool certainly wasn't anticipating the monster game:

“I thought I was going have a smaller role for the game,” Claypool told PFT after Pittsburgh's win. “But when [Diontae Johnson] went down I knew I had to step up for the time being and luckily I was able to do that.”

With his impressive performance against the Eagles, the Canadian native hopes to put his name out there for other teams to notice:

“I hope they have a corner on me and a safety over the top because that means that other people can go ball out,” he  said. “If I can go ahead and affect the game in that way whether I have zero catches or 10 catches, if I can affect a game indirectly and let someone else [contribute] then I’m all for it.”

Big Ben had an efficient outing as he completed 27-of-34 passes for 239 yards and three passing touchdowns, which all went to Claypool. Running back James Conner also racked up 44 rushing yards and a touchdown score for Pittsburgh, with Claypool adding another touchdown on the ground.

On the down side, the Steelers lost Pro Bowl left guard David DeCastro with an abdominal injury along with sophomore wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who was sidelined with a back injury.

The Steelers will hope to carry over their good performance when they face a tough task in the form of the division rival Cleveland Browns in Week 6. The Browns are off to an impressive 4-1 start.
