Earlier this week, Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden was surprisingly released by the Cleveland Browns after seven seasons.

It didn't take long for the Pittsburgh Steelers to swoop in and add Haden on a three-year, $27 million deal. According to Teresa Varley of Steelers.com, general manager Kevin Colbert sees the 28-year-old as a huge addition to the team.

“A guy like Joe Haden is not available very often. We still think he is a very capable player who can help us in the secondary.”

Haden is widely regarded as one of the top cornerbacks in the league over the last several seasons. However, he has dealt with the injury bug in each of the last two years. He had missed 11 games in the 2015 campaign due to a finger injury and a concussion.

This was followed up last year as he dealt with two separate groin injuries that forced him to miss three games and eventually required surgery.

However, Haden appears to have a full bill of health heading into the 2017 campaign and could be a huge factor defensively for the Steelers while re-establishing himself as one of the top defensive backs in the league.

Haden will likely step into the starting job alongside Artie Burns and allow for William Gay to play in the slot.
