Former Pittsburgh Steelers great Jerome Bettis is somewhat disappointed at how the situation with wide receiver Antonio Brown has played out thus far.

It's certainly been a wild couple of months for Brown and the Steelers, and it appears that the team's front office may be forced to eventually trade him at some point.

And the way everything has unfolded has Bettis worried about the legacy that Brown has built with the Steelers, and whether or not this will be what most people are reminded of should he be dealt elsewhere.

Here's what Bettis had to say about the turmoil between the two parties, courtesy of Grant Gordon of NFL.com:

“There's that issue where they gotta kinda talk through those things, but I would hate for this to be the end of his career [in Pittsburgh],” Bettis said. “But also I think for his legacy, when I think you look at him 10 years down the road, I don't want that this moment defining the player he is, because he's much more than this issue; incredible football player and he's a really good person if you get a chance to know him.”

There's no doubt that Brown is one of the most talented players in the NFL, and he would continue to be a huge asset for the Steelers should they be able to work through these issues.

But at this point, it seems like that may be a lot to ask for.
