NFL teams must despise the Pro Bowl, as front office guys and coaches probably sit and watch the game with their hearts in their throats hoping that their star players don't get hurt.

Well, on Sunday afternoon, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster made those fears become a reality.

In the first half of the Pro Bowl, Smith-Schuster suffered a knee contusion and limped off the field, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. He had caught one pass for 16 yards before exiting.

Yeah; this is exactly what Art Rooney II and Mike Tomlin want to see, especially with Antonio Brown's status for next season in limbo.

Of course, a contusion isn't really a big deal, but I would not be surprised if Tomlin already texted or called Smith-Schuster in the locker room to tell him that he better not return to the field in this meaningless All-Star game.

Smith-Schuster had a breakout season in 2018, hauling in 111 receptions for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns en route to his first trip to Honolulu.

The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Southern California, was originally selected by the Steelers in the second round (62nd pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He had a very impressive rookie campaign, catching 58 passes for 917 yards and seven scores.

The Steelers went just 9-6-1 on the season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Pittsburgh was actually in first place in the AFC North before losing to the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, opening the door for the Baltimore Ravens to win the division title.
