Ben Roethlisberger has received a lot of criticism this offseason, but Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey stuck up for him.

Pouncey took to Instagram to tell the world that the Steelers quarterback is a “true leader” and threw shade at the idea that he wasn't.

“It sucks to see players who leave and are mad at the organization now try and point fingers like they are perfect!” he wrote. “But this is the world we live in now!”

While Pouncey believes that the quarterback is a “true leader,” Ramon Foster would beg to differ with the assessment.

Ryan Clark, meanwhile, summed it up well, saying that No. 7 probably isn’t a “natural leader” and that has been something he’s had to work at over the course of his career. And Ben Roethlisberger himself has admitted in the past he wasn’t a good teammate or leader, not having to be when he entered a locker room full of veterans who led the way.

Even the now-departed LeVeon Bell told Yahoo Sports that he doesn't like the way Roethlisberger interacts with teammates. While the Steelers brass has openly admitted that they have no problem with “Big Ben” throwing his teammates under the proverbial bus, Bell says that he had a problem with the fact that his quarterback didn't see his other teammates as his equal.

It will be interesting to see if Ben Roethlisberger ultimately responds to all the allegations against him. Being that he's not on social media himself (his accounts are run by managers), he doesn't get to see the messiest stuff.
