James Conner seems more than ready to take the reins at running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers after the departure of Le'Veon Bell, but the Steelers could still use some depth at the position.

That's why Pittsburgh is looking at Ohio State Mike Weber and will be meeting with the running back in the near future, according to Dan Hope of 11W.

Weber, who also has meetings lined up with the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears, is coming off of a junior campaign in which he rushed for 954 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

The 21-year-old redshirted his first season and finally got on the field in 2016, racking up 1,096 yards and nine scores on the ground while registering six yards per attempt.

Then, the following season, Weber totaled 626 yards while reaching the end zone 10 times as a rusher, tallying 6.2 yards per carry.

The Steelers were one of the worst rushing teams in the league this past season, ranking just 31st in yards on the ground. Only the Arizona Cardinals, who won just three games and had by far the worst offense in the NFL, were worse.

Of course, a lot of that had to do with Bell's season-long holdout, and coupled with the fact that Conner was battling injuries during the year, Pittsburgh did not have much going in terms of the running game.

The Steelers went 9-6-1 this past year and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2013, as locker room issues doomed them during the second half of the season.
