The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed rookie defensive back Terrell Edmunds to his rookie contract, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Edmunds, Pittsburgh's No. 28 overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday worth $10.8 million deal and includes a signing bonus of almost $6 million, per Bouchette.

Terrell is the brother of Tremaine Edmunds, the Bills’ No. 16 overall pick. The two became the first brothers in NFL history to be picked in the first round of the same draft.

The 6-foot, 217-pound Edmunds is a Virginia Tech product who started in all three years of college ball for the Hokies. He finished with six interceptions and 196 total tackles in 35 career college games.

Edmunds will provide versatility on the Steelers’ defense. He was drafted primarily to play as a safety, but he can also play at linebacker if necessary. That could come in handy with the Steelers set to miss Pro Bowl linebacker Ryan Shazier for the entire year.

Edmunds will be part of a new safety rotation for the Steelers, who also added veteran free safety Morgan Burnett in free agency in place of Mike Mitchell. The two will join Sean Davis at the back end of the Pittsburgh defense.

With Edmunds signed, just five draft picks remain unsigned to their rookie deals ahead of training camp: Denzel Ward, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Roquan Smith, and Dante Pettis.
