Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant’s status with the team has been an ever-changing one. After expressing his desire to be traded last season, differing reports have come out regarding the possibility of him being dealt. Although, those have since died down in the last couple of months.

However, there’s still a chance Bryant will finally get moved before the end of the 2018 NFL Draft, as Dan Graziano of ESPN explains.

The noise around this situation has died down since October, when Bryant’s trade demands became public. But with one year left on his contract, Bryant is still hoping to find a situation that gives him a chance to function as a team’s No. 1 option. That’s not going to happen with Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell in Pittsburgh, obviously, and Pittsburgh has been quietly listening to offers over the past couple of months.

Bryant had 50 catches for 603 yards and three touchdowns in 2017 as he found himself falling to the fourth option on the Pittsburgh pecking order behind Brown, Bell, and rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster. While he has shown the potential to be a lead receiver, he may have to go elsewhere to fully realize that potential.

With the Steelers unlikely to offer him a new deal, it makes sense for them to try and get something for him in a trade while they still can. But as Graziano notes, the Steelers will still need to get a good offer for Bryant, who can help their push for a Super Bowl while their window remains open.
