The Syracuse Orange community received some scary news on Tuesday. Orange head coach Jim Boeheim's wife was robbed at gunpoint at a shopping mall on Tuesday, as reported by Sports Illustrated.

Juli Boeheim, the wife of Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim, was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday in the parking lot of Destiny USA—a shopping mall—in Syracuse, according to Syracuse.com.

Juli Boeheim, wife of Jim Boeheim, was at a Destiny USA- a shopping mall in Syracuse, New York, at 2:08 in the afternoon, when a male suspect struck up a conversation with her while she was sitting in her car.

All of a sudden, the man pulled a gun on Boeheim as he grabbed her purse. The man entered a car with two other people and drove off with Boeheim's purse. Fortunately, the Syracuse Orange head coach's wife was not harmed in the robbery.

Boeheim's wife is the co-founder of a foundation that helps children to fight cancer in the New York area along with the Orange head coach. Both of Boeheim's sons, Buddy and Jimmy, play for the Orange.

The Syracuse Police Department is still conducting a search for the suspect. While a scary incident, the Orange community can be thankful for the fact that Juli Boeheim wasn't harmed during the robbery.
