Andy Murray's Wimbledon preparation got off to a good start, as he advanced to the final of the Stuttgart Open, where he was ultimately bested by Matteo Berrettini. Murray suffered an injury during the loss to Berrettini, needing medical timeouts twice in the midst of the action.

With the Queen's Club Championship around the corner, Murray had to make a tough decision. Sky Sports News has the details.

Murray was forced to withdraw from the Queen's Club Championship, set to be one of his final tune-ups before Wimbledon. The British tennis star, who has secured three Grand Slam singles titles in his career, released a statement informing the masses of his abdominal injury.

The official injury is an abdominal strain. Murray is still aiming to play at Wimbledon, a tournament he has won twice. Murray could play an exhibition match at Hurlingham Club next week, according to Stuart Fraser of Times Sport.

The 35-year-old Murray has battled injuries since 2017, dealing with a serious hip injury that required surgery and at one point, threatened the future of his playing career.

Murray said that he doesn't yet know the severity of the abdominal injury. Hopefully he is still able to compete at Wimbledon later in June.
