The Boston Celtics decided to trade guard Avery Bradley to the Detroit Pistons for forward Marcus Morris. The move was made to shed extra salary and sign forward Gordon Hayward. Bradley was an integral part of the team that made the Conference Finals last season.

However, Boston needed cap space to sign Hayward and Bradley was a restricted free agent next season, making him a surefire candidate for the maximum contract that Boston could not match. From a purely financial sense, this trade was good for Boston, but they will surely miss the defensive phenom Bradley was.

One player that will, without a doubt, miss Bradley immensely is guard Terry Rozier.

Rozier shared a few words with the Boston Globe on the life after Bradley.

“It’s tough because [Avery Bradley] was a guy that I really look up to,” Rozier said. “And he just helped me with not just the things on the court, but off the court. Always telling me, ‘Save your money, bro,’ things like that. He’s just a great mentor. Great guy. But I’m still happy for him.”

With the departure of Bradley, Rozier will presumably get more playing time now that the guard rotation is thinner. Marcus Smart will be the starting two-guard and Rozier, with the current roster set as it is, will probably be the first one off the bench for the C's.
