The Oklahoma City Thunder have a crucial offseason ahead of them following a disappointing end to the 2017-18 NBA season. The biggest question at the moment is the uncertain future of small forward Paul George. Fortunately, there is one other player who the Thunder may have a better chance of re-signing. According to ESPN's Royce Young, forward Jerami Grant is optimistic about remaining in Oklahoma City:

“I definitely think it’s a possibility. I know it’s a lot of moving pieces but I definitely think it’s a great possibility me being there. There’s a lot of things they have to figure out but I think it’s a good chance.”

Grant has had some trouble finding his footing in the NBA after being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers. As a result, he was traded to the Thunder prior to the 2016-17 NBA season in exchange for power forward Ersan Ilyasova and a protected draft pick.

Grant's struggles carried over to Oklahoma City in his debut season with the team. However, he has made some solid progression during his time with the Thunder. The fourth-year man out of Syracuse had perhaps his best year yet given his limited role alongside Oklahoma City's Big 3. He averaged 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game this season.

Grant was primarily used when the Thunder decided to play small-ball with him down low. Despite his modest production thus far, his youth and willingness to do the dirty work at times could make him an integral part of the roster moving forward.
